Deb's London Marathon

Deb Butler, dressed as The Mad Hatter, completed this year's London Marathon in a time of 6 hours 12 minutes! Fantastic!

Even with a persistent hip injury, Deb walked and part-ran the distance, with friends also dressed in The Wonderland Theme as Alice and Rabbit. See the photos on our Photo Gallery and the Flickr gallery at http://www.flickr.com/photos/dublet/6962710972/

As a long-term sufferer of depression, Deb has raised a great deal of money for Mind, helping to raise awareness and understanding of this debilitating and lonely condition and to help Mind provide support for sufferers. Deb is now collecting all the much-appreciated donations and the grand total raised will be announced soon! You can still donate on Deb's link page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/DebButlerTheLoonyOne

Afterwards Deb commented: 'Thanking you kindly for all your support! The time would have been quicker, but I stopped in total for about 20-25 minutes on the route as people kept wanting photos and chats, high-fiving everyone on route, a tea party with champagne at mile 17 with my running friends, and a long queue for a toilet stop half way.

‘The day was amazing, the mad hatter costume was a huge hit, people were cheering and high-fiving me as soon as they saw me, and as we approached the finish line, about 400 metres away the commentator spotted my costume and they filmed us for the whole way to the finish, and we were up on the big screens :) He kept saying it was the best costume he'd seen all day. It was the best tea party I've ever had :)'

WELL DONE DEB!
