Your wellbeing and mental health can benefit greatly from connecting with others - family, friends or meeting new people. The ‘Get into Reading' programme can provide all of these, as well as the sheer enjoyment of sharing a great poem or short story within a group.  Reading short stories and poems together can be a great way to get to know new people; As well as sharing some of our own stories and life experiences.

In our reading groups great short stories and poetry are read aloud by a trained facilitator, with group members joining in with their views and as they wish.

Each session lasts around 2 hours and you don't need to bring anything with you! Poetry, short stories and refreshments are all provided!

Get into reading groups are a great way to;

  • Improve concentration
  • Develop your knowledge of literacy
  • Get to know new people from your local community
